Problems with USB hub in 1905FP Monitor

I have just installed a new Dell 1905 FP monitor on my old PC, which has a USB2.0 PCI Card.
The problem is that the monitor USB hub does not function.
I am using Win 2000pro and the device manager shows that the device is connected but no driver is installed. devices connected to the monitor do not work and cannot be seen in the device manager. I suspect that I need a driver for the USB hub but I do not know where to get it.
Can you help me please?
P.S.
Devices connected direct to my PCI card all work OK.

Did you connect the USB cable from the monitor to your system ?  Check out this link and follow instructions...As for my windows xp, I have to have at least SP-1 installed for the USB 2.0 to work well and you have an older system, using Windows 2000.  Hope someone may assist further.  Give this suggestion a try first, than hope someone who has more knowledge than I can help you more

One power cable

One monitor cable from the monitor to the video card

One USB cable from the computer to the monitor

Hi SR45,

Thanks for your response.

I cannot see any problem with the monitor connections. In fact the Device Manager shows the monitor USB Hub as an "Unknown Device" under the USB section of the DM browser. I can verify this by connecting and disconnecting the USB cable.----- So no problem with connections(I guess).

Still, the USB hub in the monitor doesn't work.

Thanks anyway for your effort!

Sorry I could not assist further nsadding.  Windows XP needs SP-1, but you have windows 2000, so I'm at a loss.  Someone may know if it will work on your operating system, so stand by for awhile....Good luck to ya.

Don't know if this might help you, but switch off the monitor and try unplugging and plugging back in the power supply on the monitor.  Once I plugged in the power supply I quickly switched on the monitor and I noticed it was installing the new USB hub from the monitor, as XP shows w/ little pop up bubbles in the taskbar.  As simple as that might sound it worked for me as seen in this thread http://forums.us.dell.com/supportforums/board/message?board.id=dim_monitor&message.id=43678
