Retailer websites adding suffix to Dell monitors?
Hi,
Need to clarify this: what are the difference or why there are some models that have an extra suffix to the original monitor on Dell page to other retailer page (ex. Amazon, Best Buy etc). Sample models are U2518DX vs U2518D,
SE2717H vs SE2717Hr. Can we have the updated Dell Monitor Naming convention? Need the meaning of that X and R badly and other suffix as well. Thanks

Good question. I can see why there would be confusion. The "R" means sold to a retail store. The "X" means "exception" concerning which cables ship. You always should check the Dell monitor User's Guides prior to any purchase.
* Notice there is only ONE Dell U2518D
* Click it
* Click Manuals & documents
* Open the "Dell UltraSharp U2518D User’s Guide" PDF
* Page 1 shows, "Model: U2518D/U2518DX/U2518DR". This means the specifications are identical
* Page 6 shows,
DP cable (DP to mDP, only for U2518D)
HDMI cable (U2518DX & U2518DR)
* SE2717H, SE2717HX, SE2717HR are identical in specifications
* Page 5 shows, VGA Cable (for SE2717H)
* Page 6 shows, HDMI Cable (for SE2717HX/SE2717HR)
