S2240L does not go to PSM (power save mode) immediately

Hi,

Was using S2240L monitor with the VGA cable, didn't faced any issue. Recently connected it with High Speed Ethernet HDMI cable and noticed that gives a "No HDMI Cable The Display will go to Power Save Mode in 5 minutes". This happens when there is power supplied to the monitor without starting the PC, Windows shuts off the display after certain minutes, the PC goes into sleep, or after shutting the PC down. Is this normal that the monitor will not go to power saver mode immediately or should I need to do something? Info: I'm using Windows 8.1, Nvidia GTX 750 with driver 335.23. Tried resetting the display settings, and using DVI-to-HDMI cable with no different outcome.

RajuKol,
Computer Off, Monitor On = "No HDMI Cable. The display will go into Power Save Mode in 5 minutes"
Computer in Sleep Mode, Monitor On = "No HDMI Cable. The display will go into Power Save Mode in 5 minutes"

Computer On, Monitor On = You should not get that message

Yes, that is my question,

if the computer is off, or in sleep mode, why doesn't the monitor goes to PSM immediately?
Aren't there any way that it can work same as the VGA cable?
