S2716DG, HDMI input not working
Hello, I received this monitor 2 weeks ago and have only used display port up until this evening. (Revision AO3) I had to send my video card back so i'm forced to use HDMI for the time being. Only issue is that it won't display anything connected via HDMI. I've tried my work laptop (which I use the HDMI port every day) my desktop onboard graphics, and lastly my ps4. All 3 using different HDMI cables and all 3 not display anything on the monitor (but work flawlessly on my tv)
I did the self test and all colors worked flawlessly. I tried a hard reset (unplug everything, hold power 30 sec.)
I actually called tech support, which I must say was a nightmare. I was told that the HDMI input works fine since the self test worked and that theres nothing they can do because the devices im using as input aren't dell and tried to transfer me to non-dell related support (after 30 minutes!)

I should clarify. I'm still within the 30 days of free return, but I would just like help or an exchange. Did I just get a bad representative on the phone? I'm assuming thats the case as I've heard nothing but good things about Dell's customer service otherwise.

They could have done a better job at troubleshooting.
Read through this and this.
* Turn the S2716DG and desktop computer off
* Disconnect every cable from the S2716DG (power, DP, mDP, HDMI, audio, USB)
* Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds
* Reconnect only the power cable and the HDMI cable to the S2716DG
* Connect the other end of the HDMI cable to your Desktop computer HDMI out port
* Turn the S2716DG on, then your desktop computer
What appears on the S2716DG?

Thanks Chris, I did read through both of those. I disabled deep sleep as soon as I received the monitor as I had read about that issue.
I'll try out what you suggested when I get home in a few hours and report back. I did that process last night but I believe I didn't reconnect the cables in the correct order

Hey Chris I followed those steps, selected HDMI input and the screen stays blank and then turns itself off.

Hey Chris just a quick update, I decided to try my luck with the online chat feature and had a much better experience. Long story short they are sending me a new monitor with next day delivery free of charge!
Feel free to lock/delete, thanks.
