I recently purchased a Dell 27" WQHD 144Hz 1ms GTG TN LED G-SYNC Gaming Monitor (S2716DG). I know you have to use the DP port to get the full 144Hz, but what would be the Hz and resolution be with the HDMI 1.4 port?
Solved! Go to Solution.
The online S2716DG User's Guide page 12 shows us the Preset Display Modes.
HDMI 1.4 maximum is 2560x1440 60Hz.

What if I had a system that can put out 120Hz through HDMI? Could I go DP port to HDMI through a connector and still receive the Hz? Or could I go a lower resolution like 1080p and get a higher Hz through HDMI?
It sounds like you are saying =
PC HDMI out port to S2716DG DP in port
That would involve using a not tested by Dell 3rd party HDMI to DP converter box. Even then, I do not know if the higher Hz would be possible.
