Hi, the only way to get the webcam working connected to the monitor, is to have the USB-C upstream cable connected to the desktop/notebook, on which you intend to use the webcam.
The online S2722DC User's Guide page 12 states = NOTE: If your computer does not have a USB Type-C port, use a USB-C to USB-A cable (sold separately) to connect the monitor to your computer.
PC HDMI out port --> HDMI to HDMI cable --> S2722DC #3 or #4 HDMI in port PC USB-A port --> USB-A to USB-C converter cable --> S2722DC #5 USB-C port
This second setup should also work to turn on the S2722DC USB-A ports. Disconnect the HDMI cable from the S2722DC.
Online S2722DC User's Guide page 31 = PC USB-C out port --> S2722DC USB-C to USB-C cable --> S2722DC #5 USB-C port
NOTE: The S2722DC #5 USB-C port only delivers 65W back to the Laptop. So you may need to connect the Laptop provided power adapter to the Laptop.
Thank U. I've a ASUS VivoBook S15 with a USB-C port and I'd like to reload it directly from the monitor while the latter is connected to my desktop. It doesn't reload but it shows up on my laptop, in the devices section, an HID Device. I made several attempts, first connecting a USB-A cable from the laptop to the monitor's USB-C, then I did the opposite, but in no case does it charge my laptop. How could I resolve this situation?
Disconnect every cable from the S2722DC to the Desktop PC. You want to troubleshoot ONLY using the ASUS VivoBook S15 and the S2722DC. This is to confirm that those two work together.
* Turn the S2722DC off * Turn the ASUS VivoBook S15 off * Connect the provided power adapter to the ASUS VivoBook S15 * Disconnect the S2722DC USB-C to USB-C cable from the ASUS VivoBook S15 * Turn the ASUS VivoBook S15 on * ASUS VivoBook S15 lid is open you can see the Windows desktop * Turn the S2722DC on * Connect the S2722DC USB-C to USB-C cable to the ASUS VivoBook S15 USB-C * Extend the Windows desktop to the S2722DC. Does that work? * Does it show as charging the ASUS VivoBook S15?
Thank U a lot! a last question. I don't understand how I can connect my webcam to the monitor (in turn connected with a desktop, so using webcam for work video calls from my office) : can U help me please?
