S3221QS, no Mac software? Is this a joke?

Seriously? There's no Mac software to control or update a S3221QS?

None of the S series monitors are supported by Dell with macOS. All can see this when running the macOS versions of DDM or DDPM. Below are the officially supported Dell monitors in the macOS =

C2422HE, C2423H, C2722DE, C2723H, C3422WE, C5522QT, C6522QT, C7520QT, C8621QT
U2421E, U2421HE, U2422H/HE/HX, U2520D/DR, U2720Q/QM, U2721DE, U2722D/DE/DX, U2723QE/QX, U3023E, U3219Q, U3223QE/QZ, U3419W, U3421WE, U3423WE, U3821DW, U4021QW, U4320Q, U4323QE, U4919DW
UP2720Q, UP2720QA, UP3221Q

Note, as a consideration to macOS users, Dell did provide the S3221QS M2C103 firmware update that can be run in macOS.

Correct. When all go to the S3221QS driver page, then click the down arrow under, "Operating system", it only shows Windows. So the driver listed there is only for Windows operating system. There could be a macOS DDM released in the future but not sure if the S3221QS will be included in it. Note, there are no firmware updates listed.

This is absolutely shocking! Also purchased the S3221QS and cannot use it with my MacBook Pro with Big Sur 11.4. What a let down! Dell can you please make this a bit more clearer on the product documentation that, "this display will be a paperweight on MacOS systems.”. I have an amazingly low resolution of 1920 x 1080 (as the highest option to choose from).

@pierreSpierre  Before just assuming that lack of software is the reason you’re stuck at 1920x1080, could you perhaps specify the exact size and generation of MacBook Pro you’re using and also exactly what cables/adapters you’re using to connect to the display? It’s entirely possible, in fact quite likely, that one of those is the source of your limitation. You don’t need software to “unlock” native resolutions.

And in fairness, I don’t think Apple provides Windows software for their Pro Display XDR or says “This display will be a paperweight on Windows systems.”

"but whatttabout apple!  Their one monitor that is clearly made for macs may or may not work on windows!". Apple is clear that it makes hardware for macs and that the pro display will be limited on windows. How about Dell? Do they mention that if you're using a mac you get stuck with far limited functionality and convenience? And while we're at it, how far does one have to go back to get 1920x1080 output on a mac notebook? (far) pierre could be doing something incorrectly but let's be clear, Dell not supporting this software is bad form (to put it kindly). Dells support, btw has been great. but being opaque on mac support while saying the monitor ships with ddm software is, um, suspect. They have Dell Display Manager support for a small number of monitors and without the DDM, it is a SEVERELY limited experience. There are many other monitor manufacturers. I have learned an expensive lesson.
