S3422DWG, resets MPRT response time setting on boot

The S3422DWG resets the Response Time setting from MPRT to Fast every time a refresh rate below 100Hz is used. This happens on every boot as most UEFIs display at 60Hz, and there is no way to change this.

Other manufacturers with backlight strobe technology do not have this problem. There are two popular approaches.

* The monitor turns off strobing at 60Hz but remembers the configuration and turns it back on once the refresh rate is increased without requiring user intervention
* This applies to most BenQ monitors
* Strobing is allowed at 60Hz even though it flickers visibly, as some users prefer it
* This applies to the BenQ XL2411 series and the LG CX-Series strobe features

It's very disappointing that Dell's firmware on this model is incapable of remembering the last response time setting when the refresh rate changes. If this feature worked sensibly I would have already bought a second monitor of the same model, as it is otherwise great, and one of the best options on the market if you want a curved ultrawide with backlight strobing.

I have the exact same issue, as well as another user who documented it  here:  https://www.dell.com/community/Monitors/S3422DWG-resets-Response-Time-upon-waking/m-p/8107346/thread-id/138733

After months of troubleshooting back and forth, I was also advised "This is an expected behavior and working as designed."

As a product manager myself, this is a big oversight. To sell and market a 'Gaming' monitor that then requires manually enabled settings to use the 'Gaming' features every single time I turn on the PC is a bit ridiculous. They could have added in some sort of delay (10 seconds even) before reverting the response timing from MPRT to previously applied setting which would give a PC long enough to POST and finish booting.

If you want nice crisp image with no ghosting, MPRT mode is required to be enabled.

Dont bother troubleshooting, (though their chat agents are lovely!), the technical team will make you go through loops of tests and eventually tell you "this is as it was designed."

If you have this issue, RETURN it and look for another monitor while you can.

I would warn people on the product page but apparently I am not allowed to add reviews there. Go figure.
