Hi,

The black border issue, it can be fixed in the Catalyst Control Center following the below mentioned steps:

  • Right click desktop and click Catalyst Control Center.
  • Open Catalyst Control Center.
  • Click “Preferences” on the top right corner, and click “Advanced Mode”.
  • Click “My Digital Flat-Panels” to expand it.
  • Click “Scaling Options (Digital Flat-Panel)”.

Under it, move the slider towards “Overscan” until the black boarder disappears (Refer to Image below).

Please post back with the results.

I have the same probelm but I can't acccess your solution because when I righ click the dekstop I get AMD Vision Control Engine Centre and when I select this the timer comes up to show it loading but it then goes away and nothing appears. If I get into the same area going through Control Panel\Appearance and Personalization\Display\Screen Resolution\Advanced settings and choose the AMD Vision Control Engine Centre tab and select the AMD Vision Control Engine Centre  button the same thing happens.

Any solution?

Hi James Couzens,

We can try reinstalling the ATI graphic drivers which might help us. Please follow the below mentioned steps to troubleshoot the issue:

  1. Click “Start”.
  2. In search, type “Programs and Features” and press enter
  3. Uninstall “Catalyst Control Center”.
  4. Restart the computer.
  5. Visit the support.dell.com and enter the Service Tag.
  6. Select the Operating System installed in the computer.
  7. Install the ATI driver in the computer and check the functionality.

In case, if the above steps do not work, please provide the system model.

Perform the above mentioned steps and post the results.
