ST2420L no backlight

Turned on my Dell ST2420L purchased 1 year and 1 week ago (warranty expired a week ago)  and found no picture.  Well, there IS a picture if you look hard enough, or shine a flashlight at the screen on an angle.  The monitor appears to be working fine but there is just no backlighting to see what is on the screen.  Called Dell, of course, warranty was expired, I'm on my own.

Any solutions?  Replace backlight?  Throw the whole thing out the window?  Never buy Dell again???

Either the AD Board or the CCFL backlight lamps are defective. This site might be able to provide the help and parts.
