SX2210 & power save mode

I've opened "Power Option Properties" [POP] and set "Never" in "Turn Off Monitor" field.  I also set "Hard Disc" to "Never" and "System Standby" to "Never."

Still, something in my COMPAQ WinXP desktop is telling the monitor to go into "Power Save" mode, EVEN WHEN I'M MOVING MOUSE OR KEYS!!!

BTW, everyone is telling me that I need to junk my XP box but I'm a casual user who is satisfied with XP.  I'm on a NetGear WiFi router and keep my anti-virus and other security software up to date.

TIA

varkpilot,

The SX2210 has audio, USB, and also a webcam. The operating system could be telling those to go into power save mode, but that should not put the display itself to sleep. If connecting from video card HDMI to monitor HDMI, the video card itself may be entering a power save mode. Open the Device Manager and check the Properties of all. Look for a Power Management tab. If there, remove the check from "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power".

I have a similar problem, after the system goes into power saving mode, and I try to wake it up, there is no sound. I have to log and log back in. Any ideas

klngonwarr,

Are you saying that the Inspiron 15r is connected to a SX2210 monitor?
