Trouble with P992 Monitor

I got my P992 monitor with the Dim. 8200 setup 3 years ago. I know that the Trinitron monitors have a couple of white lines normally......but mine now has many lines clearly visible all the time. When it is cold the lines are from about 1/2" apart at the bottom to 1/8" at the top. They don't run exactly straight across, but at a slight angle. After it gets warmed up the lines get further apart going from 2" at the bottom of the screen to about 1/2 " at the top. Also at the bottom of the screen-like the taskbar-the images are out of focus. When booting there are lots of weird lines, and flashing etc. before any WinXP screens appear.

I have the Nvidia GeForce4 Ti 4200 4X AGP 64mb. The monitor is set at 85 Hertz, Dell driver 2.0.0 issued 8/1/2001. I'm running 32 bit color at 1024X728 pixels. My Nvidia GF4 has bios 4.25.00.29.10, and Display driver 6.14.10.4523. Do I have something set wrong, or is this monitor on the fritz??

I was really happy to find this thread ..

I have a similar problem with my P992, it started after i installed a new Geforce 6600 in my computer. I´ve checked the card by connecting another monitor to the computer.

The screen flickers constantly and i have to degauss the screen continously ...

Its like some kind of interference is going into the screen. I´ve removed any mobile-phones, routers and other appliances to eliminate this possibility.

Please respond, i´m not really up to paying for a new monitor when I have the P992.

Best regards Jesper Lundaa
