The warranty period stays the same regardless of how many exchanges you get. They have been in customers hands so they could have any of those problems. There is no guideline on hours usage. If the replacement does not meet your expectations, contact Order Support and get another one.

It sounds like the button itself is failing. The only way to know for sure is to disassemble the button which I would not recommend. The Dell Policy concerning monitor exchanges is as follows -

* If the exchange is setup inside the first 21 days from the invoice date, the replacement will be New

* If the exchange is setup outside of the first 21 days from the invoice date, the replacement will be Refurbished/Used

And an extra question:

How does a refurbished replacement effect my warranty?

Dear Chris,

Thank you for taking the time to reply to my question.

This might sound as an obvious question, but is important to me none the less. I am a bit afraid that when I go into the refurbished process I get a monitor that is not 100%.

How is the quality of refurbished units (U2410) and are there guidelines for these replacements? By this I mean if there are guidelines on the hours a unit has worked, what kind of defect was there in the first place, are the colors as they should be, what if the casing is scratched, etc..

In short, what can I expect and is there a possibility to give the monitor first inspection before agreeing to exchange it?

Simon
