U2414H, DP issues, A01

On multiple NVIDIA graphics cards as well as through several different DP cables, I have experienced issues of monitors not showing anything. Windows usually detects the display (shows as "Generic PnP Monitor") in Device Manager on Windows 10 x64 but the screen remains black.

Other symptoms are, more rarely, that the display shows up but it's at 640x480 resolution. Rebooting my machine, unplugging the power cable for 10+ seconds, and unplugging the DP cable never seem to work, or at least are only good for changing the behavior.

I noticed on the back sticker it said firmware is A01. I've heard there's an A03 firmware but I was not able to find it. I feel like flashing new firmware on it may fix the issue. I assume firmware upgrades are a procedure I can do at home. Where can I download the latest firmware for this display? Also, is a 2014 monitor still under warranty? I purchased 2 of these from B&H Photo in December 2014.

Probably the fault of the computer, DP converters or video card since monitors are dumb plug and play peripheral hardware. Did you install the monitor drivers? (not really necessary except to run the buttons on the monitor) Update the video card drivers? Use a diff port for the display--hdmi or dvi. Skip the display port connection.

Your monitors are not covered by warranty after 4 yrs.

As stated,I have tried on multiple cards and cables over two years I've dealt with this issue. Blaming this on my PC isn't going to fly. HDMI does work just fine but I prefer DP. My video card also only has one HDMI port. And this monitor has no DVI ports.  Any advice on how to update firmware to A03?

* Purchased 2 of these from B&H Photo in December 2014.
Then the warranty on both expired 3 years from your purchase data from B&H Photo, December 2017.

* HDMI does work just fine but I prefer DP.
There is no difference visually. The U2414H DP, mDP, and HDMI all max to 1920x1080 60Hz.

* Any advice on how to update firmware to A03?
The U2414H firmware were never uploaded by Dell to the U2414H driver page. The U2414H firmware update was only done in our service centers on New and returned U2414H. The only way to get a U2414H with the updated firmware is via a used U2414H exchange which does not apply to you since they are both out of warranty.
