U2414H Nvidia issue - detected as HDTV

Hello

I just purchased an U2414H rev A01, connected it via HDMI to my gtx560 since it not supports DisplayPort, and happened same as others experiences, the nvidia control panel detects it as a HDTV not as a monitor. I cant determine but i assume it uses just the limited RGB as a know issue with GeForce cards. I found an utility for tweak registry to use full RGB as the current best solution. But after i run the app and swtich it to full RGB i cant see any difference. Many reports this test image

http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/gradient.php

should show if i have full RGB or the limited one. But i dont see any difference between the two modes in this one. Then i tried this one

http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/black.php

and weird thing happened... With the standard setup without tweak i see all the different toned greyish squares, but after applying the RGB tweak the first 3 squares are invisible, they are same color as background and start see them just from the number 4. According to the description even the first row should be distinguishable. How it can be without a tweak i getting better results on this test image than after applying it? Anybody can check his own results with this test? Thanks

What brightness/contrast settings are you using on the monitor? Is it possible that the brightness is too low that the dark squares are  clipped?

When I calibrate my monitor using my Spyder4Pro, I have to set brightness to full before I get the recommended 180mcd/m^2 baseline reference for brightness (this depends on the ambient room brightness too).

I'll check how the tests look when I'm at home in front of my dual U2414H setup.

I was checking it with the default 75 brightness and 75 contrast, i will try it with full brightness when i get home. And i forgot to mention it was in sRGB mode. The another interesting thing is when i try it on a default STANDARD preset i can recognise even the first square. I dont understand how it can be as the sRGB should be the factory calibrated and most accurate color setting.

Also at this test http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/gradient.php with the STANDARD preset the gradient comes more smooth to me. With sRGB in the black part it comes for me less smooth, like bigger color shade jumps between some pixels (but still far from that what is called there banding)

Do you have the latest Nvidia 344.11 driver installed?

I had the latest 344.11 geforce driver and the monitor was still recognised as hdtv, but I dont know for sure with which one driver was make these color tests, since i contacted nvidia support and they asked me to test more drivers, but none helped. Now they had to escalate my case and waiting for reply from a higher level support team...
