U2414H displayport issues
Hello, 3/4 times i turn my PC on, the monitor stays black after the windows loading screen. After that, when i turn the monitor on and off, then I get a low resolution. When i log in to windows my ATI catalyst gives me an error "The system has detected a problem with the connection between your computer and the DisplayPort. the monitor is only few weeks old, and the problem was since day 1. I have been searching around the internet but haven't gotten a solid fix for this.

endoraland,
* Press the monitor Menu button (3rd from the left) to bring up the OSD (On Screen Display)
* Go to Other Settings
* Go to Factory Reset
* Choose Reset All Settings
* Go to Display Settings and verify that DisplayPort 1.2 is DISABLED
* Go to Color Settings and verify that these are chosen:
Input Color Format = RGB
Gamma = PC
Preset Modes = Standard
* Exit the OSD
* Open the AMD Catalyst Control Center
* Click Video
* Click Color- Advanced Video Color
* Choose Use AMD Settings
* Choose Dynamic Range Full (0 - 255)
* Click Apply- OK
Retest switching the monitor on/off/on.

It's the same for me with 6 of these monitors, each one behaves the same. 1080p is unavailable half of the time and only 29Hz interlaced is available which makes everything jitter. I believe it's a DP communication issue and would like to know if Dell is aware of the problem and manages to reproduce it and is working on a fix (see http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/peripherals/f/3529/t/19566131.aspx).

Hello this does not solve my problem,
after reseting to factory mode, I can't use 1080p resolution. I can only use it when I have displayport 1.2 ENABLED.
My graphics card (ATI r9 270) supports displayport 1.2

With it disabled, what resolutions are available in the Ati CCC? Test it disabled doing the on/off/on thing.

We are not seeing the issue in our call centers. My advice is to contact Dell Customer Service for your country and start getting exchanges. Until we see the data (X monitor exchanges for X issue) on our weekly reports, we cannot do anything.

Thanks for the advice Chris. If I return them to Amazon (probably more convenient in my situation, and free shipping) and clearly write down the technical problems in my return statement, will that eventually show up on Dells statistics too? Or do I absolutely have to go the Dell route to trigger the stats?

If your U2414H stays black when you turn on/off/on again the monitor, you should try to unplug the power cable of the monitor, wait for power LED off (2-3 sec), and then replug a power cord back, again wait for DELL logo display then everything will be solved. (actually I used an extension power cord which have a switch for every power ports)

I've got a Dell U2515H that I've had for about 4 weeks now. Connected to an AMD 7850 in my self brew PC running Windows 7 64-bit via miniDP. Typically my PC is asleep overnight and prior to getting the U2515H, I've never had problems with any of my 3 screen set-ups including a Dell E248WFP (DVI), EIZO L675 (DVI via active DP->DVI adapter) and a Hanns-G HW191D.
Since getting the U2515H, I've noticed that Windows displays the same error message as you're getting occasionally when I wake my PC up and the U2515H ends up running at a lower res than its native 2560x1440. The first time, I ended up rebooting which brought things back to normal.
I've found disconnecting the mDP cable from the monitor and reconnecting it also returns things to normal. Neither option is very elegant. More recently, I discovered that if I wake my PC up first and then turn the monitor on, it comes up ok but not if I turn the monitor on first. Today it happened even though I'd woken the PC up first (perhaps I didn't wait long enough?). So I simply tried turning the monitor off and waiting til I heard the Windows 'hardware disconnected' sound and then turned the monitor back on again. That brought it back up at native resolution.
Me thinks there's something slightly peculiar going on in the connection (re-)initialisation phase that's making it throw a wobbly. Whether it's an AMD gfx driver issue or a Dell monitor (firmware?) one I don't know. Perhaps if someone with nVidia or Intel gfx could post their experience we can narrow it down.
Or maybe Dell could do some internal testing to get to the root of the problem?
