U2515H, Power Save Mode message flaw

Question

Hi, I just received a U2515H today, and have run into the same firmware bug with this message when my computer goes into standby / sleep, or I unplug the HDMI cable. There's no reasonable explanation why the monitor would have to go into full brightness and wait 5 minutes to go to power save mode, and no other monitor I've had does this, so it's clearly a bug. I have to use this in an office where presentations are given in low lighting, and just think of the distraction this creates! I can't imaging someone using this monitor in a living room, let along a bedroom! What a disaster! Is there a firmware fix for this? If not, I'll have to return this monitor because of this, as well as the poor sensitivity of the capacitive buttons. I've also come across a couple other threads where people are complaining about the power save message problem with the U2414H (Thread IDs 19542746, 19990284). In addition to this very irritating and distracting message being a serious design fault with this monitor in general, when a computer initiates sleep mode, it is definitely not the same as electronically disconnecting the cable from the monitor as you state. The user manual explicitly states that power save mode is initiated by VESA DPM (see page 14 of the User's Guide), of which my Nvidia video card supports, as well as most video cards that have an HDMI port. From a reddit forum where people are also discussing the problem with this message and this class of monitors (U2715H in this case), there is a mention that this is from a firmware bug when using an HDMI port, but does not occur when using DisplayPort. I can not confirm this though since I don't have a video card with a DisplayPort. In summary, this notification is a basic design engineering flaw. When you unplug a computer from the monitor's cable, the monitor needs to go into sleep mode nearly immediately. It's only after a monitor is first powered up that the monitor should display a message if no signal is detected.

I have spoken with both the Dell Displays team and the monitor manufacturer TPV. This is not a bug, design fault, or a firmware issue. Based on Dells requirement of the manufacturer, if the video cable is disconnected, the "wait 5 minutes to go to power save mode" is working as designed. For our notes, what do you mean by "full brightness" when this appears?
