U2518D, attached to TB16 DP, showing only 6 bit

I have a new Precision 5530 and a TB16 docking.
The U2518 monitor attached via DP is showing to 6 bit with a lot of banding.
Another 2412M attached to the second dp (the mini) is ok

Tried to:
- changed port on monitor and docking and changed cable

- nvidia and intel 630 driver update

- firmware u2518 updated

- driver 2518 installed

I attach the monitor via hdmi directly to notebok, goes ok at 8 bit.

Any help ? I don't want (after spending 300€ of docking) have another cable attached to the pc...

Thanks

Try rolling back your Intel Graphics driver to 4815 or earlier

I'm not able to downgrade.  Normal installer (exe) doesn't work, if I update from device manager (pointing to the folder where I extracted the zip, same thing)
Also uninstalling the device and then trying to install the driver it always come this error

Any suggestions?

Open the U2518D Menu- Display. Is MST set to Off?

Try setting the monitor to DP 1.1 mode, like Chris said.

If that doesn't work, what I found also worked for me was to use a usb-c to displayport dongle.

Already tried, nothing...

And where should I connect that dongle ? the notebook is already using the usb-c port for the TB16...

I was tempted to buy a U2718 4k, but if I have these problems, probably is better to change brand...

Note that at home I have an old U2515 that works perfectly

The TB16 has a thunderbolt port on the back that can be used for video out as well.

Actually you mentioned HDMI was working. Any reason you can't use the HDMI port on the TB16?

Yes, the reason is that I'm stupid :-)

I saw only 5 minutes ago !! (telepathy?)

So issue with DP not resolved, but at least I have now only one cable.

Thanks to all
