U2520D, MacBook Pro, audio not working

Hi,

I have issues with my U2520D. I am connecting my MacBook Pro via USB Type C to the U2520D. I connected an external speaker to the Audio line-out port but there is no sound? My output source is definitely Dell U2520D and the type displayed is DisplayPort. My speaker is a Sony Bluetooth speaker. Does USB Type-C not support audio transmission?

@joseph9718  If you're seeing the U2520D as an output source on your Mac, then the USB-C port isn't the issue.  You wouldn't see that if it didn't support audio.  Maybe check the settings in the onscreen menu of the display itself?  Or make sure your Bluetooth speaker is set to receive audio from its line in jack rather than Bluetooth?

The online U2520D User's Guide shows us that the U2520D Menu does not have any Audio On/Off settings. So the macOS controls its audio out into the U2520D. Look in the macOS audio settings for the U2520D to choose it as the default audio output device.
