U2713HM, no 2560x1440 though Dual Link DVI
I have connected my new Dell 2713 HM monitor to my Asus Nvidia GTX 550 TI graphics card by the included dual link dvi cable. The cards specs show that it supports the resolution http://www.asus.com/Graphics_Cards/ENGTX550_Ti_DCDI1GD5/#specifications
When i use the NVIDIA control panel with a custom resolution it's possible to set the high resolution but there are small flickering lines in some parts of the image and games do not recognize resolution higher than 1080p. The drivers of NVIDIA and the DISPLAY are the newest available. Why wont it work?

Da_File,
Look at the image below and tell us what ports are on your video card:

The port on our monitor is DVI-D Dual Link. Our cable is DVI-D DL to DVI-D DL. Even though it has all 29 pins, since the resolution in games is being reported as 1080, that leads me to think that the video card DVI-I port is wired single link, not dual link? You should ask the guys on the Desktop Video board about this.

Thanks for the suggestion. I opened a nem Post in the Desktop video forum.
My primary question is why the Monitor driver is called (HDMI) and the conneciton is recognized as HDMI.
Could this be an EDID problem of the monitor? I don't think the port is single link because the specs say "DVI Max Resolution : 2560x1600"

HDMI? List every cable plugged into the monitor.

Then why would the driver mention HDMI? Doesn't make sense to me.

Btw i tried to connect the Screen by the VGA cable -> Driver Dell u2713 (VGA) is used.
Next by a single DVI cable -> Driver Dell u2713 (HDMI) shows up.
