U2715H, MST operation issue

Hi,

I am trying to bring up a Displayport MST link with U2715HC and a SST monitor connect in daisy chain.

I have configured the U2715HC correctly and enabled the DP1.2/MST mode.

While trying to capture the AUX log, I see that the AUX trace goes for a toss the moment I connect the SST monitor to it's DP out. Moreover, with AUX analyzer in place, I am not even able to train.

The same MST daisy chain does not work with Nvidia and AMD GPU's either.

If I replace U2715HC with U2713H, then everything works fine as expected (even with Aux Analyzer)

Is there anything special to be done to get U2715HC working?

There is no such model as U2715HC? Did you mean the U2715H? Click my DELL-name and private message me the monitor service tag number.

What specific second SST monitor model are you trying to use in Daisy Chain?

Hi,

I have PM'ed the service tag to you.

it does not matter on the make of the monitor. Even with other Dell monitors the Aux behaviour does not change.

Check the private message I just sent you.

* What specific SST monitor model are you attaching to the U2715H?
* What specific "AUX analyzer" device?
* Explain "capture the AUX log"

It does not matter which monitor i connect as SST. I see same behaviour with Dell2713 or DellU3014 when connected as SST to U2715H.

The Aux analyzer we use is DPA-400, which i a standard equipment used.

The Aux analyzer captures all the AUX transactions that happen over the DP link. The moment i connect the AUX analyzer, the AUX transactions go for a toss. Meaning, none of the AUX transactions are executed properly. (either no ack/nack or the AUX transaction is not decoded properly)

Which 2713? U2713H or U2713HM? If the U2713H, set the U2713H as the master and daisy chain to the slave U2715H. Does it work?

Using a Windows PC with DP out port, set the U2715H as the master and daisy chain to the slave U3014 and U2713. Do they work?

We are getting diverted from the main issue. Lets stick to the original issue of AUX analyzer and focus on that.

We test/validate our monitors connected directly to a Windows PC. Which is what you must do to replicate and show us the issue.
