U2718Q, Color inconsistency, #2
I have the same problem with two U2718Q monitors bought in the last 4 months.
I notice reflections of white objects in the screens, when switched off, appear a difference color indicating different panel types and manufacture or coatings.
I will complain to my supplier about this and see what they will do.
I will post here any news I get and keep an eye out for any news you may get.
Thanks
Michael

@DELL-Cares replied me in private message. They claimed "Our monitor are tested and both pass our manufacturer specification for overall color and uniformity."
I asked them what is the meaning of "Color consistency comes standard: Your UltraSharp monitor is factory calibrated at 99.9% sRGB coverage to an accuracy of Delta-E less than 2, for precise hues right out of the box. Each monitor features a factory calibration report that guarantees color correctness, so you can trust your projects reflect true color intensity." which stated in Dell's introduction of U2718Q.
But no reply at all since 28 Jan 2020. They just ignore customer message when they cannot solve or explain the situation.
Even local technical support did the same: No reply to customer request.
So, I won't buy and recommend Dell anymore.

you may also read this thread, the color inconsistency occurs in a single monitor but Dell's "standard" answer is meet their standard and no problem at all.

The colour difference is so marked that i have to change the colour temperature of one monitor to its next level / setting to get whites to almost, but not quite, match.
so I’ll make enquiries with the shop I bought them from and see what they say.
i think you can specify an exact colour temperature, rather than use the several preset options, so I may just experiment with that on one screen to try get the whites to match... not a good answer but a pragmatic one.
thanks for your comments.

There's been a new development... after reading up about this and various other colour calibration issues, I started to run the built in colour calibration app in Windows 10 on the older of two monitors - the 4 month old one.
Note - I have a late 2019 model Dell XPS13 connected via a TB16 dock to the two monitors, via DP and mDP. cables. Halfway through I started to tweak the individual R G and B settings in windows for that monitor to see if I could get the colours closer and it was apparent I couldn't, when they were set at the same colour temperature (6500k).
Then I accidentally toggled the newer monitors input from mDP to DP and the new screen obviously went blank for a few seconds until the auto discover feature worked and my windows system found the new monitor again.
AND ( amazingly) the two monitors are now absolutely colour balanced at the same colour temperature, (at least to the naked eye). all of the slight differences in colour have gone..., extend a large white word document across both screens and the white is the same and the grey menu background is also the same.
I did not continue with the MS windows colour calibration.
So I don't know what fixed this, was it my docking station, was it my monitor's auto discovery of the signal that I accidentally interrupted.
My only worry now is if I power off will the problem come back when I power back on
Think I'll email the Vatican and announce a miracle
regards
Michael
