U3014, Dell warranty questions
I'd like to spend $1,300 on a U3014 but am stuck at finding out what those warranties are all about. Called Dell, they are closed. Nothing on the website?
costco.ca appears to be a much safer alternative, although no $250 discount, but at least they ask no question :D especially if you take in consideration the recent issues.
Anybody can advice?
Thanks!

Hi smkr,
Dell U3014 is one of the best monitors of Dell. There are no known issues with it and we would suggest you to go for it. The picture that you have sent is not clear, however the first option indicates it is a 3 year manufacturer warranty which will not include accidental coverage (like monitor screen crack, dropped, etc).

Thanks Kiran, I agree that it must be the best, granted it's the most expensive monitor Dell has and as a long time Costco member I trust them for selecting good products.
However, I am simple guy, and especially when I am going to pay that amount of money just for a monitor I don't want any "unknowns". Thus my question about warranty. I'm not happy with only the title and I'd like to read the full text before buying, It is a huge issue for me, I can't buy a product (in this case warranty) without knowing the details. With Costco things are simple. You don't like it you bring it back, don't even need to package it.
So, yeah, I'd like to save the $250 by buying it directly from Dell but again, without the hidden hassles of warranty.
I'm interested in:
3Yr Ltd. Warranty- Advanced Exchange
Accidental Damage Service, Adv Exchange, to 3 Year Limited Warranty
If you can provide links to full text of those warranties I'd very much appreciate it.
Thanks.

Hi smkr,
The first warranty mentioned indicates that any technical issues you have with the monitor we try to fix it and if we are unable to do so then we replace it (Terms and conditions). You may refer the below link:

The second warranty is an accidental cover in case of an accidental damage on your monitor (terms and conditions). You may refer the below link:

There is no mention about "exchange" (search the page).

There is no mention about "advanced".
So, thank you, I will buy from Costco. I very much like Dell products, have been working with them for 15 years (business use), but the online store is not clear enough so non-business customers can be sure that their problems are dealt with without hassle.

I guess you haven't looked around here too much. There are definitely many reported issues with the 3014. Horizontal scan lines, contrast issues, color issues, wake from sleep problems... and a few more that I can't recall off hand. Mine suffers from a good portion of these. Patiently waiting for the next revision dso I can send it in for exchange. :emotion-7:
