U3818DW, DDM, feature request, change active input
Hi all,
I have a Dell U3818DW and I LOVE that it comes with your awesome DDM (Dell Display Manager) tool, which adds so much value to the monitor!
My setup is that I have three laptops (1x USB-C, 1x DisplayPort and USB, 1x HDMI and USB) and I'm big into keyboard shortcuts. With the current possibilities, I need two different shortcuts to switch between all laptops and the shortcuts differ on at least one laptop:
Thus I'd like to suggest a feature: Adding the "Change active input..." feature from the Input Manager to the quick settings dialog box and/or the application window and/or the tray context menu:
Add to:
- Quick settings dialog box
- Application window
- Tray context menu
Thanks so much for your consideration and keep up the good work!
Best regards,
Simon

In the meantime, with the current DDM version, you could setup 3 Windows shortcuts with associated hotkeys to switch inputs.
"ddm.exe /SetActiveInput USB-C" // to switch to your LAT
"ddm.exe /SetActiveInput DP" // to switch to your Lenovo
"ddm.exe /SetActiveInput HDMI" // to switch to your BSUS
To speed up Windows shortcut creation, open the main DDM window, and while holding down the SHIFT key, click on the "?" and select "Create shortcut..." from the popup menu and then edit the command-line.

Thanks swamped207 - command line never even crossed my mind when I was thinking about DDM
Your suggestion works like a charm and makes working so much more convenient! As this workaround is almost as good (or even better) than my feature request, I'll accept this as my solution!
