@Ilmulopazzo

You have installed ArgyllCMS USB driver. It is not needed for i1d3 colorimeters since it's a HID device. You need no driver for it and it's explained in DisplayCAL/ArgyllCMS that you need nothing (user error). Since it is attached as an ArgyllCMS USB device and not as HID, DUCCS cannot see it.

Right click and uninstall that driver. Unplug i1d3, connect it again. Windows will recognize it as a HID device (like a mouse). After that make sure it is not listed as an USB drvice with argyll driver (it should not show that screenshot). Try DisplayCAL to test that WITHOUT installing any driver it is recognized as HID device. Close DisplayCAL and go with DUCCS.
You can skip DisplayCAL "no argyll usb driver" testing and go for DUCCS onace Windows detects it as HID device, but DisplayCAL is almost the only way to test that DUCCS calibration (once you had it working) is OK or Not OK so I'll keep it. Just remember to DO NOT install ArgyllCMS USB driver, it is meant for i1Pro2 spectrophotometers, Spyder colorimeters and other non HID devices.

Another alternative is to right click, update driver, choose manually from drivers in disk and choose the non argyll driver. It is explained in ArgyllCMS doc

P.S: Once DUCCS works I would try 1.6.6 since it has a lot of improvements over 1.5.x: better grayscale and a custom white point /gamma for native gamut without typing edid coordinates manually.

When I go to the UP2516D driver page and change the "Operating system" to Windows 10 64-bit, the only DUCCS offered is version 1.5.10, not 1.6.6?

* Uninstall DUCCS 1.6.6
* Restart the PC
* Download/install DUCCS 1.5.10
* Restart the PC
* Retest DUCCS 1.5.10

Understood. That auto prompt to install the "latest" version is something I wish they would turn off.

Dear @DELL-Chris M ,

i'll try the procedure later this evening and then post it back to you and the community.

Actually i downloaded version 1.5.10 as stated in the UP2516d drivers/manual/download page. At first boot Duccs asks to update to a newer version (1.6.6) so i gave the permission.

Probably i had to stick to the older version.

i'll let you know.

Regards

* Uninstall DUCCS 1.6.6

Done. Uninstalled also displayCAL and i1profiler (also i1 profiler doesn't recognize the calibration device) and all xrite software.

* Restart the PC Done
* Download/install DUCCS 1.5.10 Done
* Restart the PC Done
* Retest DUCCS 1.5.10 Done

Not working.

Duccs still doesn't recognize the device and still works as demo. Differently from yesterday the device, once connected to an usb port, blinks but isn't recognize from the system (it doesn't appear under system devices list).

Any other suggestion?

The DUCCS DEMO mode message means that the colorimeter is not "sensing" the monitor.
* Disconnect/reconnect the USB 3.0 upstream cable in both the UP2516D and the PC USB port
* Test the colorimeter on every PC USB port
* Test the colorimeter on all four of the UP2516D USB downstream ports

i'm using, as per original message, an old upstream USB 2.0 cable from a dell U2412m monitor. Can that be causing the problem?

Unknown. Dell has never tested another monitor USB upstream cable on the UP2516D. On the UP2516D, we only tested/validated the USB 3.0 upstream cable that shipped in the UP2516D box.

@DELL-Chris M @DELL-Cares

installed PN81N usb 3.0 cable. Full article number. PN81N$DA1 CNPN81N$DA1

disinstalled again DUCCS and displaycal (it works fine with the calibrator xrite I1 display pro eodis 3 no matter wich usb port is connected).

Update the monitor firmware to version 102. Un plug and re plug display power cord.

Reboot the system.

Installed DUCCS. 1.5.10 version, with XRD 2.4.0.1

Reboot the system. Blue screen. windows need to correct disk (scratch disk for principal SSD disk C:). Takes several minutes. Boot the system. No acces to disk (no acces to another hhd disk E:; i've got principal disk SSD C:-scratch disk D:-HHD disk E: and -HHD disk F:). Really slow system. Need a reboot. Takes several times (20 minutes). Finally the system boot fine.

Connected the colorimeter to every port in the cabinet and in the monitor. Still not recognized by DUCCS. DUCCS boot in Demo mode no matter wich usb port the calibrator is connected.

i've also tried to reboot the system while trying each usb port.

* PC model. intel core I5-2500. 16gb ram.
* Operating system. 64 bit Windows 10 Pro. build 1803
* Video card specifications (video out ports). Nvidia quadro k620. Driver 442.19.
* Then detail how the video card is connected to the monitor like this = Using full size displayport directly from the video card to the monitor.

I really want to solve it.

Let me know if you need more information.
