Alright, crisis averted.

The new cable Displayport --> USB-C worked well and the colors are now true again. I think there was something fishy with the old adapter HDMI --> USB-C.

Anyhow, all is good now. Thanks for participating in this conversation.

If this UP2516D was not purchased directly from Dell by you, you have to fill out the Ownership Transfer form.

Because Dell did not test/validate the UP2516D on Apple hardware and operating system, can you replicate the issue when testing the UP2516D on a true Windows based PC?

According to the UP2516D User's Guide page 42, YPbPr is reserved for a DVD Player =
"Select this option if your DVD player supports only YPbPr output."

So that is odd that the Apple MacBook Pro wants to use it. On a true Windows based PC, you would use =
Standard/RGB/PC

Can you test "Standard/RGB/PC" when connected to that Apple MacBook Pro?

Also, you should consider posting the issue on the Apple Forum to see if other Apple users can assist.

Thanks for the answer!

There are a lot of points in your message, I'll try to stick to the bullets.

- I'm baffled that Dell wouldn't test the monitor on Mac! In the specs you can see that it "supports" MacOS but it turns out noone actually tested it. I'm not sure what would be the correct word, but something between 'shame' and 'customer fooling' would fit here. I don't have a Windows PC next to me, but I'll try to get one for a test.

- I'm not sure what the DVD have to do here, but thank you for the information. Regardless, it's still amazing how the monitor can't keep its setting saved.

- As I stated in my original message, I've tested Standard/RGB on Macbook OSX. The results are attached.

I have a theory that this might have something to do with a HDMI --> USB-C adapter. A new cable DisplayPort --> USB-C is arriving, I'm going to test how it looks. I'm holding my fingers crossed that this would be the fix.

I realize it is confusing. In my 19 years working as the DCF (Dell Community Forum) Monitors Liaison, there has only been one monitor that Dell actively supported on Apple OS. It was the Ultra HD 5K UP2715K.

As a consideration only, X-Rite created an Apple OS version of the DUCCS ((Dell UltraSharp Color Calibration System) software. That is why you see on the UP2516D driver page under, "Operating system", Apple Mac OS, Apple Mac OS 9. If you click on them you will see that there are no Apple OS driver. It only shows =

Conversely, if you click on Windows 10, 64-bit, you see DUCCS plus the "Drivers for OS Deployment" =
