UP2718Q and DSC
Hi
As the UP2718Q has DP 1.4 inputs does that imply the monitor supports DSC?
I have the Dell XPS 13 9310 and a DP 1.4 Alt-Mode dock capable of running 2x 4K 60Hz monitors but can only get 4K 60Hz on one and 1080p on the other.
Any thoughts on this most welcome.
Thanks

@JHirst DisplayPort DSC support is optional under DisplayPort 1.4. It is expected to become mandatory for DisplayPort 2.0, but that spec hasn't arrived yet. So no I would not assume that DSC is supported. A DisplayPort 1.4 Alt Mode dock would only be able to run dual 4K 60 Hz without DSC if USB data speeds were limited to USB 2.0. Running USB 3.x requires allocating two of the USB-C connector's four high speed lanes to that purpose, leaving only two for video. Each lane can carry a DisplayPort HBR lane when allocated to video, but 2x DisplayPort 1.4/HBR3 lanes isn't enough bandwidth for dual 4K 60 Hz without DSC in use. (USB4 will be changing how lane allocations work, but that isn't involved here.) The only other way to run dual 4K 60 Hz over USB-C would be a dock like the Dell D6000 that relies on DisplayLink technology, but that's completely different from DP Alt Mode and has several drawbacks. So what specific dock do you have?
