UltraSharp 1907FPT - Washed out color
My original 1907FP was great! It had the Samsung LCD screen! Colors looked vivid and contrast was perfect.
A Bug destroyed all of this! I received a replacement from Dell but the screen colors are washed out and the mouse paints across the screen when it is moved too fast.
I checked the LCD model in the service menu and it does not appear to be a Samsung LCD. It is ID'd as '1907FPt FP421 V4T06'
Can anyone ID this manufacturer?

Dear Dell-ChrisM,
Thanks, I ran the application but it did not change anything.
When I received this replacement, the first thing I did was enter the service menu and reset all to factory defaults.
My first observation when I received this LCD monitor is that the brightness is turned way up to compensate for the lack of contrast. If I turn the brightness down it washes out even more. The colors look muddy!
With the brightness down to a level that is not hard on the eyes, the screen takes on interesting hues of color. When viewed straight on it has a blue hue and above center (about 10 degrees) the blue becomes more intense. Left and right of center it is yellowish.
Colors look terrible while watching movies unless I crank the brightness way way up again! Burn an image on my eyeball bright!
I really wish I could get my original monitor back, BUG and ALL!:smileysad:

P.S.

I got the replacement for the replacement and if anything it is just about the same or worse. I am returning it to dell and I am giving up on dell!
The screen on this one starts to darken at the bottom half of the screen when you start to go above center and at the top when you view below center.
I paid a lot for my original monitor and what I get in exchange is of lesser quality.
The original monitor dell produced was a good monitor, which earned the review it received from CNET, and others but they would not give that rating today.
I will answer my own question from the last post about the $35 Dell tried to offer. IT WAS MOST DEFINITELY meant to be a bribe!
I can not relay to you how upset I am with DELL! This is the last thing I get from Dell!
Bottom line, I want the monitor I paid for but I am not willing to play "Monitor Roulette" with you!
So Dell, can keep their $35.00 and keep their monitors. If I wanted a cheaper monitor, I would have purchased a cheaper monitor!
