This is caused by the LCD monitor failing to autosense the refresh rate of the display adapter.
To resolve this problem, turn off the monitor for 15 seconds. During the startup, the monitor will detect the input signal and will now function normally.
i had the same problem "cannot display this video mode". i contacted dell support thru chat. i was advised to turn my computer on safe mode, u can do this by pressing F8 as your computer is restarting. from there u change your setting. if that does not work, like in my case, i had to run restore program on my computer. of course with the assistance of the dell agent. DON'T DO this though on your own. pls contact dell support thru chat or phone
