compatablitiy with existing cpu. Wanting to upgrade monitor
Hello,
I have a older media center edition xp dimension 510 desktop with a 17" monitor. I am wanting to upgrade the monitor from the 17" to a 22 inch with a intergrated webcam. The model # on the monitor i have is "Dell E173FP" on a "Intel(R) 82945G Express Chipset Family 224Mb". The monitor that I am looking to purchase is the Dell Refurbished SP2009W 20-inch Widescreen Flat Panel LCD Monitor with Webcam. My question is will I have to upgrade my video card. Not really sure if there is a seperate video card on this computer! On the device manager the only thing listed is the chipset that i have mentioned! If someone could please help me out here it would be greatly appreciated!

How to tell you have a video card. A reall video card will take up a slot on your motherboard, and has a blue connector in a bottom slot on the back of your computer. This is the place you connect your monitor. A card built in the motherboard will have the blue (VGA) connector higher up on the case, nearer to the top.

I do not like Dell Refurbished monitors for home customers. The warranty is only for 90 days. The warranty on a new monitor is one year and up. Many are three years.
