moniter problems

Question

I have and optiplex gx300 w/dell CRT moniter (all pretty old) all of a sudden the moniter had lots of thin grey lines through it. Just happened one day. Over 9 lines - they seem to be a repeat of the same striation pattern. I've tried (2) other Moniters - (1) brand new HP moniter. I'm not a big computer person - could there be something wrong w/my computer b/c it is obviously not the moniter!   Thanks Nicole

luxe36, Thank you for using the Dell Community Forum. Try removing and reinstalling the video card drivers back into the system to see if that gets rid of the lines.

thanks - tried that with a computer tech while on the phone and it was a disaster - now the computer doesn't work at all!!! I think i'll take it to a place that actually had customer service centers - this online and over the phone thing just doesn't work for me!
