monitor help!!

I am currently experiencing some odd behaviour from Dell E197FP monitor. Every time the resolution changes it says "auto adjust in progress" on booting the screeen does this about 4 times always when the resolution changes, ie it starts in 640x480 and then through the BIOS boot the resolution changes to 720x x and so on each time it changes my monitor auto adjusts, it never used to do this at all, is this an issue? Thier seems to be nothing to turn the auto adjust off, once it gets into windows it does seem to stop just find it odd that its just started? Was going to reinstall drivers for my monitor but i cant find any to use, even off the dell drivers section they don't appear to be thier, any1 shed any light on this?
