Does a NMC console user requires administrator privileges in Networker?

I would like to create a console user that can monitor and re-start backups only. NMC is running on a Windows host and the Networker 7.5.1 server is on Unix.  I created a console user on NMC and then added this user in the default Users group in Networker with backup, recover, monitor, operate Networker and operate jukeboxes privileges. I then sign on NMC as this user, however when I try to get to the Networker monitor screen, it complains that this user is not part of the administrator list of users.  Obviously if I make this user part of the administrator list of users, then this user will have full privileges which I don't want.

Hi Stephanus,

1. have you added the user system@nmc-host to the administrators on the networker server?

Maybe thats the point?

2. Version of the nmc-Software on the windows host?

Using NW7.5.1 the NMC should have 3.5.1 which comes wih NW 7.5.1

Yes, SYSTEM@nmc_host is in the administrator list of users, but not the new console user I created. The NMC version is 3.5.1 Build 269

The question is, can I launch the Networker app from NMC without administrator privileges?

Yes, you should be able to do so.
