EBR/VBA backup failed - too many pre-existing snapshot...
Hi there,
I am using Networker 8.1 with EBR/VBA appliance to backup VM, pretty often I got those kind of error (see below) that I can fix by removing (deleting) snapshot on that VM concerned but it seems to come back after while again.
Too many pre-existing snapshots on the datastore will not permit a restore or backup.
Anyway I can fix that definitely ? Can I set up a maximum of snapshot somewhere ? Any ideas guys ?

We have also seen this behavior. However, we have also noticed that these errors almost completely disappeared after we updated the environment to NW 8.2.

What we did so far for 'repair' was ...
- creating a new snapshot
- deleting all snapshots
... and the next backup was successful.

yeah, I use to do that... but it quit annoying to do that every week...
so none definitive solution ?

Hi,
We were getting these kind of errors (orphan snapshot) by doing VADP Backup with External Proxy.
Since we are using VBA, no more oprhan snapshot were detected on the datastore.
