My understanding is this,Whenever backup is running in VBA , a workorder is created which triggers the avagent service in active mode,rest of the time avagent service is in sleep state.

As a administrator,on NMC can we change the flag status of "avagent" service,from On to Off or vice-versa ?

Command shows this :

#: chkconfig --list | grep avagent-vmware

avagent-vmware 0:off 1:off 2:on 3:on 4:on 5:on 6:off

Is it intention from EMC, that this service state will be changed by the NMC switch, or should the service state being off all the time and the service will be started from NMC, when switched to on?

To be is looks as if agent is normally on (you want it on in 3 and 5 for sure).
