NMM Support for Timefinder Clone
Is their any opportunity for NMM to be supported with Timefinder Clone?
NMM currently supports Timefinder Snap and Mirror.
We have a customer who has two Symmetrix DMX, they utilise SRDF replication between Production and DR sites.
Their environment is virtualised with VMware and they utilise SRM.
They would like to utilise NMM to backup their Sharepoint farm at application and LUN level.
We are discussing Replication Manager at this site in the interim.
Thanks
Richard

We are working on this and hoped it would be a simple qualification but it turns out there is some dev work needed to fully support. We expect to be able to add this in the next few quarters, no later than Q1 HOPEFULLY.
In the meantime the BCV Emulation Mode can be leveraged for the CLONE support without adopting the BCV limitations.
We'll try to ensure we get the message out when we have a more concrete idea of when this will be released.
Thank you for your input Richard.

Steve
Thank your for your answers with this question.
We will probably utilise BCV emulation mode until it is fully supported.
We tested this with Powersnap a while back and it worked successfully.

Hi Steve,
Do you know how soon we could expect intergration of PowerSnap with SMI protocol? That, if and where possible, would give this module rather nice advantage and boost.

Hello Hrovje,
SMI usage within PowerSnap has been on our radar for quite a while now.
However, it is not tied to any specific PowerSnap release scheduled for this year. Hopefully we will reveal plans to support it somewhere in 2011.
Regards,
Mickey
