Networker LTO6 tape drives inconsistant sizes
Greetings
I have noticed a trend when cloning to tape. I have clones that are written to tape however, I have noticed inconsistent data sizes on the tapes. Some tapes are 8TB while others are 3.5tb - I understand LTO 6 is about 6tb compressed. Is there an explanation for this or can a setting I am unaware that could make this more consistent?

This is not unusual. The 'compression rate' depends on so many factors that the result is completely unpredictable, except you will have the exact same data/save set on the same tape drive type.
As long as the tape will not be filled prematurely (most likely due to a hardware error) this is the normal behavior.
