Nw 9.1 storage node change
Dear Experts!
We using Networker 9.1 with vproxy backup with Data Domain.
Currently i am testing the backup with a linux storage node.
Previously the backup is going to Windows storage node.
I set up the following:
- dd boost device
- disk device
- workflow and group
However, the the Vmware backup to this new storage node is stopped with the following error:
- No matching device for save of client (vcenter server name). Check devices and pools.
- The another backup type (db2 backup) is going to this storage node is working well.
- I checked the devices and pools which is set up correctly.
Questions:
---------
#1 What can cause this problem?
#2 Vmware flr restore is possible if we using windows storage node
to restore files on linux vmware host? Can linux host mount the dd device with client direct?
Thanks in advance.

Hard to say as we do not know the details.
It looks as if the Advanced Options for the Action have not been set properly
- Destination and/or
- vProxy and/or
- Destination Pool

Thanks for the quick answer. Still suffering with starting this backup.
The error is:
No matching device for save of client (vcenter server name). Check devices and pools.
Settings in detailed:
- Workflow / action: storage node: linux host
vproxy: auto vproxy selection (we have two vproxies)
destination pool: dd2500linux
- pool settings: (dd2500linux)
pool is enabled
pool type: data domain
label template: dd2500linux
devices: rd=linuxhost:dd2500_dd2500_linux
- one boost device is mounted for that pool
- this boost device is mounted only on the storage node, not on the backup server
This device (rd=linuxhost:dd2500_dd2500_linux) is working well in db2 backups.
vcenter client:
We heve only one client (vcenter client) in the client list. In that client the backup type is: vproxy
That client has no storage node specified and doesnt contains in any protection groups.
The normal vmware backup is doing via the backup server which has a boost device.
This boost device is also mounted on windows storage node for cloning purposes.
Thank you for any recommendations ...
