permission denied when labeling tapes

Hi am trying to label tapes on one of the HP-UX server and am getting "write open error permission denied"

am getting this error when trying to label any tapes i tried with 4-5 tapes and the error remains same.

Please help me to resolve this problem

Are you trying the same device but different tapes? If so, it means the device configuration is not correct (it claims permission denied).  The device is configured with NetWorker but not on the OS.  Hope this helps..

Can you verify that path for tape exists and if it does that it's order is correct?  With HPUX you can get those easily unless running v3 with agile addresses.
