Dell X4012 connecting to laptop with ethernet
Hi,
The issue i am having is when I power on the switch and connect it to my laptop it doesn't see the Ethernet connection. I have to disable the adapter and enable for it to get a signal. It seems like this happens every time i disconnect the power to switch or if i unplug the Ethernet for a longer period of time say 15 min. I do have a 10g adapter connected to Ethernet which is allowing me to connect to the switch.
I would appreaciate any input here.
Thanks

Hi,
How is the port configured? Are there any error messages?

Not sure where to see if there is any errors.. I just got the switch.. I use it for work to work on servers.. The servers connect to the switch. I connect the switch to my laptop.

Do other devices have the same issue? It sounds like the NIC is going into power save mode and dropping the connection.
