1394 Connection is Enabled but could not access Internet
I had to resinstall the Windows XP on my laptop due to the virus. Now, I have a problem that I could not connect to the internet. The 1394 Net Adapter is showing Enabled but I couldn't see the icon that I usually do when I'm connected to the internet that shows the strength of the signal. Obviously, I need to do something but I couldn't figure it out.
Does anybody know what I need to do ???
I have the INSPIRON 6000 Laptop.

the 1394 connection is a firewire connection and not one that is normally used for internet connection..
you should be on a ethernet or wireless connection. We have the same laptop and i use the wireless adapter to connect to my wireless router.
What are you network devices...normally you have a DSL/Cable modem and possibly a router if you want wireless.
