Hi

Make surre that the computer that you want to communicate to each other are in the same workgroup. you could try to check this my going to your my computer properties and go to computer name check if they are on the same work group. If they are make sure that the file you want to access are shared files you could by right clicking on the files and go to sharing.

craigy,

This is most likely caused by an imporperly configured firewall.   On any computer running Windows XP with SP1, disable the Windows XP firewall. It will not allow File and Printer Sharing. On computers running Windows XP with SP2, make sure that the Windows XP firewall has File and Printer Sharing checked off on the Exceptions tab. If you are running any third party firewalls, like those provided by such programs as Zone Alarm, Norton Internet Security, or McAfee Security Suite, make sure they are configured to allow local network traffic.
