Bluetooth Adapter Not Recognized by Device Manager in Inspiron 1545/Windows 7/32-bit
Hello,
In the three years I've owned this laptop, the bluetooth has never worked. I recently upgraded from Vista to Windows 7 and finally wanted to get the bluetooth working. I've updated the chipset drivers, the BIOS, all of the networking drivers and the bluetooth adapter still is not recognized in the Device Manager. I purchased another Bluetooth adapter for this laptop and swapped them out and still no luck. What else can I try?
Thanks,
-Coleman

Hi Coleman S.,
Please provide me the model # of the Bluetooth adapter that you are trying to connect to the laptop?
After installing the Bluetooth adapter, have you installed the drivers for the Bluetooth adapter??
Is it an internal Bluetooth adapter or external Bluetooth adapter?
Please reply for further help.

Hello Nikhik,
I am referring to the internal bluetooth adapter that came installed with my Inspiron 1545. I tried ordering another one of the same model and installing it after trying to get the first one to work but it doesn't work either.
The part number is PN:50.4AQ02.001
Lot: BZ103
Manufacturer: Dell
I have tried installing the Bluetooth drivers. I get to the stage of the installation where it asks me to "Activate Bluetooth using Wireless Switch", I keep pressing FN + F2 to no avail. My laptop simply won't recognize the bluetooth adapter. I don't know if it ever did.
I have updated the BIOS to the latest revision and verified that the Bluetooth device is enabled in the BIOS, but the Bluetooth adapter never shows up in the Device Manager.
Any ideas? Thank you for your assistance regarding this matter.

Coleman S,
When you reinstalled the operating system, did you install the Desktop/Notebook system software(if applicable) and the chipset drivers first? If not, the rest of the drivers will fail to install. How to Download and Install Drivers in the Correct Order
Start with the Desktop/Notebook system software and the chipset drivers and follow the list.

Rick,
There doesn't seem to be a Systems Utility category for the Inspiron 1545 for Windows 7 32-bit. I did install updated chipset and network card drivers and the Bluetooth module is still not showing up in the Device Manager.

Coleman S,
There is a Dell System Software. Then install the chipset drivers and follow the list.
