Bluetooth Adapter
I got the Dell Bluetooth adapter for the 8500/8600 installed, and so far it's working pretty well. However, I have some questions reguarding the drivers and hardware. First off, I haven't installed any drivers for it yet, it seems to have found some in my Windows install that enabled the card. I downloaded the Dell TrueMobile 300 drivers from the support site for the 8600, but it seems that they don't quite work right. I get two bluetooth icons on the system tray, the one I have right now and a new one, and the new one seems to indicate that the hardware isn't working. If I try to "Enable bluetooth radio" I just get an error than the radio is disabled. Is there some trick to getting the drivers installed?
Additionally, with the current drivers I have installed, I can't find a way to disable the bt radio and keep the wifi radio working. If I use the Fn-F2 combination it disabled both devices, and there doesn't seem to be an option anywhere to just disable the bluetooth radio. If I disable the adapter that shows up in device manager, the blue light doesn't go out, so I assume the radio is still on. I'm guessing I can't disable it because I don't have any particular drivers installed, which relates back to Q1.
Any help would be appricated.
