Broadcom Virtual Wireless Adapter driver update not available and thus not upgrading to Win 10

Get Win 10 app tells me that my Broadcom Virtual Wireless Adapter will not support Windows 10 and I may not be able to connect to the internet and I need to upgrade the driver.

The version of the driver which I have is 5.60.48.35. The app also adds that the device manufacture haven't made the device compatible with Win 10 and it will cause problems once I upgrade.

I am currently using Dell Inspiron 15 N5010. What can be done to upgrade to Win 10?

I have disabled the Broadcom Driver and my wireless internet still works. What does the Broadcom Virtual Wireless Adapter do?

Debonodean,

The Vostro 3560 is on the list of systems we've tested to be compatible with Windows 10.  Have you updated the driver to the latest version of Windows that you're running, and then check the compatibility tool again?  I know that the Vostro 3560 has Dell 1704 Windows 10 drivers released for it.  So try updating the drivers (either Win7 or Win8.1) and then see if you can get the upgrade.

(( NOTE: the link I just provided for the Dell 1704 Windows 10 driver is for the 32-bit version of Windows.  If you're running 64-bit versions please go to the main Dell support page, input your service tag, and then click on the Drivers & Downloads icon once the pages refresh.  This is the procedure you would follow to update your current drivers in place to see if you can then get Windows 10 upgrades.  ))

See if updating your driver on your current Windows version helps.

The Inspiron 15 N5010 isn't one of the systems that we've tested and found compatible with Windows 10.  There are a few threads on the main Windows 10 boards where people are discussing how to get the upgrade even if your system isn't on the list.  You may be able to find some information there.
