Broadcom m960g issue
Hey all,
I just installed a broadcom m960g bluetooth card from an older dell into my xps 1645 (win 7 x64). I found a driver on dell's website for a v370 bluetooth device for win vista x86, and although my bluetooth card was discovered and worked on my computer, after a restart it no longer supports connections to headsets and mice, although I am still given the option to transfer files. After a restart, the bluetooth icon no longer appears in the taskbar, and I am not given the option to search for and connect to bluetooth devices when searching my computer for those options. I tried re-installing the driver, with no luck. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

Hi aredlich,
I understand that you have installed the Broadcom M960G Bluetooth adapter (Dell Wireless 370 Mini Card) on your Studio XPS 1645 system with Windows 7 64 Bit installed on it.
However, it seems the drivers installed are compatible with Windows Vista instead of Windows 7.
Please try the following steps to fix the issue:
1. Please ensure that the Bluetooth card is detected and verify if the Bluetooth is enabled in the BIOS.
The steps to enter the BIOS are listed below:
a) Restart the system.
b) Press F2 at Dell logo to enter the BIOS.
c) In the BIOS, select the ‘Advanced’ tab.
d) Navigate to ‘Wireless’ using the up/down arrow keys.
e) Press enter.
f) Under the ‘Wireless Switch’ category, ensure that the ‘WLAN & BT’ is selected.
g) Navigate to ‘Internal Bluetooth’ option and make sure that it is ‘Enabled’.
2. Install the correct driver software which is compatible with Windows 7. You may download and install the software from the link given below:
www.dell.com/.../studio-xps-1645
3. Once the drivers are installed, you may setup a Bluetooth enabled device like a Bluetooth mouse or headset. To setup a Bluetooth device, perform the following steps:
a) Set up the device so that your computer can find it. To do this, you must:
• Turn the device on.
• Make it discoverable.
To learn how to make a device discoverable, check the information that came with your device or go to the manufacturer’s website.
b) Install the device.
• Click the Start button --> click Control Panel --> Click Hardware and Sound --> Click Bluetooth Devices.
• Click Add and follow the onscreen instructions.
You should be able to use the Bluetooth devices with the system after this.
Hope this helps. Do write back for further queries.

Hi Gaurav!
I know this response is a bit late, but I wanted to thank you for your answer. That was indeed the correct driver, and it worked flawlessly.
Again, thank you!
