It would help to know the computer and the OS and the makeup of your wireless network

Have you tried turning of the wireless security as a test or turning off the firewall on the computer.

Do you have other computers that connect wirelessly to this router?

How did you set it up?

It could be a security issue between the router and the adapter. Do you know what type of router you have?

I have a netgear network that I just replaced with u-versre.Couple of questions. Can you see the netgear computer on the taskbar? Looks like a little laptop. That is the wireless manager. If you can see it that will be a start
