Cannot browse internet even though connected to Router with outside connection
Hi
I have a Dell Inspiron 1750 which has recently caused me some problems with accessing the internet.
I have recently changed ISP's and received a new router and although I can connect to the router and have internet access (e.g. I can ping websites etc)
I am unable to browse for web pages. I just get timeouts. I can connect with any other device (HP Laptop, another Dell Inspiron 1750, Mobiles and consoles) but one Inspiron refuses to work. The router is a Netgear N150(standard router). No access control or Wireless access restrictions. Using WPA2 Personal as the security type. If I use a separate router (my old one) the laptop can connect no problem but with the Netgear it cannot. The old router is losing packets so I can't use that. I have searched a number of forums and changed various settings on the Wireless card but with no luck.
Now, if I connect to a wireless network which is open, it works fine. It must be something to do with the Netgear router but I've tried lots of things to no avail.
Any advice will be appreciated.
Mr A

Hi
It would appear that I have resolved this myself. This evening after posting the above, I changed the default ip address range on the router from 192.168.0.1 to 192.168.1.1 and this appears to have worked for some reason. Question is, why?
Thanks
Mr A

Mr A,
Start, control panel, device manager, Dell Wireless 1397 WLAN Mini-Card, advanced. Look for Antenna Diversity, I'm almost certain this adapter has it. Change Antenna Diversity from Auto to Aux, then restart the computer and it should connect to any wireless b/g network
