Hello, Is that WLAN card dual band or just B or G? If it is one or the other it is possible the router has been reconfigured to only allow 802.11b (11Mbps) or 802.11g (54Mbps) and it was previously allowing both B & G.
Also, make sure that the windows wireless settings know it is an unsecured network and hasn't ticked any boxes or anything. Windows can be over helpful sometimes!
