Cannot get a USB wireless adapter to work on a Studio 540 computer with Windows 7
I have tried to install a couple USB wireless adapters on this computer without success. When I use my laptop, I am able to see about 10 different connects around my house. I have not seen any connection with any one of the adapters I have tried to install. In all cases, I have installed the most recent drivers and called the manufacturers tech support department without resolving the issue. Ultimately I would like to wirelessly connect this computer with a Novatel MiFi2200 which I have a service with Verizon. My feeling is that I don't think this issue is with the MiFi card because I have not been able to see any connections in the neighborhood let alone the card. It isn't the adapters because one of the adapters should have worked. The adapters have been recognized in the Device Manager as working an with the latest driver. The computer originally came with Vista. Windows 7 was installed at a later date. All Windows updates have been performed. So the question is, what do I do next?

Open device manager (search for it in the start menu).
Then locate your wireless card. Then search for the driver for Windows 7 in google. If you have the latest driver, try looking for a beta driver from the manufacturers site.

Scott,
Did you try installing the Vista drivers in the compatibility mode?
Right click on the drivers file, left click properties, left click compatibility. Change the compatibility to Vista. Then right click on the drivers, left click run as administrator.
